Is a grooms cake a wedding necessity?

Is a grooms cake a wedding necessity?

Not necessarily!!!

You don’t have to get a grooms cake and usually when a couple incorporates a

grooms cake in their wedding celebration the cake is usually modeled off something that holds the

grooms interest. It could be comical or serious and can be shaped from anything from football,

basketball, books or any other symbol of his hobbies, profession, favorite sports and activities as well as his alma mater.

The groom’s cake can be traced back as far as the nineteenth century where they were made as a small cake sweetened with honey. They cake usually has fruits and nuts or made of chocolate, depending on the choices of the bride and groom.  It is usually one layer but there have been some fabulous groom’s cake created with more than one layer. The cake can be made with whatever flavor the bride and groom prefers. The groom’s cake like the wedding cake can be cut and served or the couple might refrain from cutting it and saving for later.
