All things Yellow and Weddings

Wedding colors and themes work side by side to set the mood and the ambiance of the celebration, so it is a huge decision when it comes to deciding on the color scheme that will be used in a wedding. It’s the color of happiness, and optimism, of enlightenment and creativity, sunshine and spring and also symbolizes wisdom. In almost every culture yellow represents sunshine, happiness, and warmth.

Considered the most visible color of the spectrum and the most luminous of all the colors of the spectrum it is a great choice for a wedding theme.  The human eye processes yellow first and is considered an attention getter.  Although there are strong mustard yellows and deep yellow ochre’s, there are no dark yellows. As far as gem stones are concerned they supposedly stimulate movement and mental awareness. It's a really great color that works well in all seasons, but is especially delightful for spring and summer events.

In spring, pale yellow brings images of warmth and new growth; a time for new beginnings.
The color yellow has several meanings culturally. For example in Japan it represents courage while in China adult movies are referenced as yellow movies, and in some areas of Mexico the color is associated with death. In the United States the color yellow has been used by those who wish to show support for the military. Yellow ribbons can be seen tied around trees or yellow bows are seen sometimes displayed on cars.
